Jungle Safari Scavenger Hunt - Famous Hot Artichoke Dip
Shelby’s Famous Hot Artichoke Dip in a Bread Bowl

1 Cup of Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
1 Cup of Fresh Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 Block of Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup of Mayonnaise
1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Salt
1/2 Teaspoon of Onion Powder
2 Small Jars of Marinated Artichoke Hearts
1 Large Jar of Marinated Artichoke Hearts
Marinade from 1 Small Jar of Artichokes
1 Large Round Loaf of Fresh Bread - Sourdough, French or Whole Grain

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a 2 quart Pyrex dish, combine all ingredients except actual artichoke hearts and melt in microwave for 1 minute. Stir, and continue heating until mixed. (Approximately 1 to 2 minutes longer depending upon microwave.)

Chop artichoke hearts into bite size pieces, being sure to discard any hard or prickly parts. All bites should be a yummy taste treat for your taste buds.

Add chopped artichoke hearts to melted mixture and stir.

Bake until bubbly and golden brown, usually about 1 hour.

In the meantime, cut top off of round bread loaf. Carefully hollow out the loaf leaving approximately half an inch on all sides and bottom. Cube removed bread.

When dip is done cooking, carefully spoon into bread bowl and place in the center of a large platter. Surround with cubed bread. Serve and savor!

Variation: Add two-thirds of a 16-oz. bag of frozen spinach (approximately 10 ounces), thawed and squeezed dry, to your mixture when adding the artichokes.
